These instruments are designed for the measurement of very small currents from sources where no offset voltage is permissible. They are current to voltage converters of very high precision and linearity and have many applications in photometry and radiometry.

The SP042 is an ultra high performance Picoammeter for the precise measurement of very small signals. It is intended for the measurement of currents down to 5fA from 10KHz to DC
SP042 Picoammeter Overview

Single sided input amplifier, suitable for measurements at DC, chopped DC. and low frequency AC. Combines excellent DC, stability with low noise up to 1KHz. This unit can have a sensitivity of up to 1MV/A with noise of 15uV at a bandwidth of 10KHz. On the highest sensitivity the conversion ratio is 1GV/A and the bandwidth is 10Hz

  • Standard deviation of d.c. offset less than 1uV below 1HZ.

  • Typical noise current less than 0.05 pA from 0.01 Hz to 1 Hz.

  • Typical noise current 0.04pA/ ÖHz from 1Hz to 1KHz

  • Input bias current less than 1pA

  • Low pass filter adjustable from 0.1Hz to 1KHz in decade steps
